Members Present: Paul Bixby, Donna Daniels, Ralph Davis, Gloria Fry, Brandon Green, Reggie Houser, Jewel Lindsey, Chris Martinez, David Martinson, Gary Smith and Henry Wendell. Also present were Vance Rice proxy for John Reid, Cecilia Koosau from the Traveler, and Elaine Quinn, acting secretary.

Report on Current Parking Status - Gary Smith

1. Fulbright parking lot is scheduled to open in April.

2. Press Release went out today concerning lots 29 and 37. The north one-fourth of lot 29 and the south half of lot 37 will be closed for the construction of a new residence hall. Only three bays of reserved parking remain in lot 29. The remaining spaces in lot 37 are On Campus parking. In March the remaining spaces will be lost in lot 29 due to the construction of a new health center.

3. The eastern half of lot 44 has been changed from Off Campus to Faculty/Staff. Warnings will be given for a week.

4. The Resident Reserved spaces in lot 37 have been moved to Scarborough House parking lot 76.

5. A parking list serve is being created so information pertaining to parking and construction can be given to those interested.

6. The tow lot fence is up, lighting is in progress and bidding will soon be done.

7. Lot 36 fence is currently being installed.

8. Humpreys Hall will be reroofed beginning the Wednesday before Thanksgiving and lasting about ten days. Fulbright Dining will also be reroofed after Humphreys.

9. The Red route will be modified because Ozark Regional Transit now has a fixed route using Highway 71 Business. The route will be reduced 15 minutes to an hour round trip. Ozark Regional Transit charges $1 per ride. The changes will become effective on November 25. Ozark Regional Transit will pick up part of the Red route on Saturdays. A map of this route is available on the Transit and Parking web site at www.uark.edu/parking.

Discussion followed on how students and employees will get to and from Reid Hall to lot 44. Reggie Houser said a lighted sidewalk is still being considered. Henry Wendel made a motion to support the creation of a lighted walkway from Reid Hall to lot 44 to provide a safe means for the residents to complete daily activities. The motion was seconded and passed.

New Business

Proposed Gray Route Change: Henry Wendel said that with the Pomfret Express route and the Green route servicing Pomfret there was no need for the Gray route to stop there also. Henry Wendell made a motion to remove the Gray route stop at Pomfret Hall. The motion was seconded and passed with one abstention.

The next meeting will be January 15th. The meeting was adjourned at 3:35 p.m.
