Old Business
1. Lot 67: 67. Paul Bixby made a motion to limit speakers to two minutes each. The motion was seconded and passed. Bill Mock proposed that lot 67 parking spaces accommodate the same adequate parking for Faculty/Staff and meter parking as lot 59. Lot 59 had 76 meter spaces, 72 Faculty/Staff spaces, 15 Reserved spaces and 6 handicap spaces. There are about 220 spaces in lot 67 with Women’s Athletics maintaining 9 spaces as Reserved. The motion died due to lack of a second. Dio Tsitouras made a motion to divide the lot three ways, between meter, staff and commuter. Dio amended his own motion to say that the logistics will need to be worked out with the lot as far as dividing it into thirds, just as long as it’s fair. Ro DiBrezzo and Jeff Bonacci voiced their concern over those who use the human performance lab and the availability of needed meter spaces for those coming to the programs at HPER. Rodney Bardwell, Resident Director at Pomfret, is in favor of dividing the lot into thirds. Every type of permit will have to give some. He said there are 762 students residing in Pomfret and about 90% have cars. Discussion continued on the number of people scanned who use the HPER Builidng and those who enter Pomfret daily. There were questions concerning lot 45, on the south side of the stadium and when parking could be available there and on Pomfret residents using lot 56D and lot 60 which are further away from both HPER and Pomfret. The question was called, received a second and passed. The motion to divide lot 67 fairly among Faculty/Staff, Commuter and meter parking with Gary making the number decision was passed
2. Minutes: Corrections were made to the minutes with a sentence pertaining to fees deleted. Reggie Houser made a motion to recommend the 5% proposed permit fee increase and the UAPD proposed fine increases. The motion was seconded and passed. A motion was made to accept the corrected minutes. That was seconded and passed.
