Old Business

1. Lot 36 Change Concerns: Jeff Velie, representing several of the Agri Departments, reported that the change of the Faculty/Staff spaces in lot 36 to On Campus parking spaces has created a lack of needed Faculty/Staff and departmental parking spaces in that area. Paul Bixby made the motion to restore the 46 Faculty/Staff parking spaces back to the south part of lot 36. (A friendly amendment by Lorraine Lorne had Paul’s motion be more specific about which section of lot 36 was to be Faculty/Staff) The motion was seconded and the vote was seven for, five opposed and two abstentions. Notice will be put in Headlines and the change designation will take effect on Monday, December 17th.

2. Phi Delta Theta Parking Update: David Martinson had checked into the status of the KA parking lot to see if the Phi Delts could use the lot for their parking. Currently the KA’s have defaulted on their lease and they have ninety days to fix the situation before it is turned back to the university. So right now no action can be taken until the ninety days is over. Reggie Houser also looked into the report of empty Resident Reserved parking spaces in front of the fraternity. He said University Housing would consider inviting approximately ten of the Phi Delts be considered for Resident Reserved in zone 5. The fraternity would provide the names and they would be checked to make sure that the students actually lived in the fraternity house. This could be completed as soon as possible so the students would have the permits when they return for the spring semester. University Housing will work with Gary to do this.

3. Bull's Eye Parking Plan: With this type of parking plan, there is no option to park “down”. Every permit holder would have an assigned lot. The permits closest to the center would be the most expensive. We currently do not have enough parking spaces to make this option work.

4. Special Event Parking: The committee met last week. Lot 55 is still being cleared in the south 4 rows (81 spaces). An option that is up for consideration is that there could be a special Resident Reserved permit just for those spaces. The permit would be free and would also include free admission to all men and women’s athletic event games. In return, the owner would agree to move for the athletic events. If the vehicle were relocated, the owner would pay the expense for the relocation.

New Business

In the spring, lot 59 will be closed for the construction. Lot 67 will then be half Faculty/Staff and half meters.

The meeting was adjourned at 3:05 p.m.
