Old Business
1. Bus Stop in Front of Museum: Gary Smith received a call from Bob Winkelman at the Museum explaining that the Museum is not in favor of a bus stop in front of the building because that is where they load and unload exhibits. No change in the current route was recommended.
2. Visitor Permit Stations: The Master Plan has a proposed visitor kiosk station planned for lot 2 to help visitors.
3. Appeals Committee Recommendations: Presently Donna Daniels, the chair of the Appeals Committee, is out of town but committee members have said they would like things to remain as they are. The workload is now manageable and the process seems to be working well. This item will be tabled until the next meeting when the chair can be present.
4. Meter Machine in New Union: Craig Edmonston said that the Union Governing Board met last month and discussed having a meter machine in the new part of the Union. Craig had explained that the existing meter is located where the Union Governing Board had wanted it and the expense of moving the meter would be very high. Craig informed the Union Governing Board that they would have to pay for the extra meter if they thought it was necessary. The Union Governing Board decided to not do anything at this time.
5. Blue Bus: Multiple requests to eliminate morning overcrowding and students who are being left at stops. Gary Smith explained that usually between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. Transit would put on a relief driver to help with the rush but right now there isn’t enough part-time drivers to help alleviate the situation.
New Business
1. Request for More Faculty/Staff Space in Lot 14: Beth Schweiger from the History Department was inquiring about the student parking in lot 14. She feels like the students who are parking there are Sigma Chi’s and they have available parking in the back of their fraternity house. She also feels that the lot would be better utilized by F/S. Reggie Houser volunteered to check with Deb Euculano on the Sigma Chi parking situation and do some counts in lot 34. The results will be discussed at the next meeting.
2. Permit Fees: Gary Smith handed out the proposed FY02 permit fee amounts with a 5% increase. Paul Bixby will check with Staff Senate on the F/S split. The increase will generate about $32,500. This item was tabled until the next meeting.
