Razorback Transit provides fare-free fixed route bus and paratransit service to all University of Arkansas students, faculty, staff and the general public during all hours of operation. The Razorback Transit buses have wheelchair lifts and are air-conditioned. Full transit services are provided, Monday through Friday on class days throughout the Fall and Spring semesters (mid August to mid May). On final exam days, only one bus will serve each route. Bus service is not provided on official University of Arkansas holidays. A list of these holidays is available on the Transit and Parking web site under Transit Operations.
There is abundant parking space on the University of Arkansas campus in lot 56, at Sixth Street and Razorback Road serviced by the Green and Route 56 buses. A University of Arkansas parking permit is required to park in this lot. The Blue and Green bus routes are served by two or more buses and schedules sometimes vary due to passenger loads, traffic congestion, weather, and road conditions. When these conditions occur, normal schedules will be resumed as soon as possible. Peak ridership periods are from 8:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. and from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Buses are often full during peak periods, so please be at your stop at least 30 minutes before you need to be at your destination.
When road conditions make it dangerous for buses, please listen to local radio and TV stations for possible bus schedule or route changes. You may also call the University of Arkansas hotline at 575-7000 for information. Razorback Transit can provide service only when travel conditions are safe.
Call 575-RIDE (7433) or email transit@uark.edu for lost and found, route questions, compliments, suggestions or complaints.
Evening reduced bus service is provided Monday through Friday during the Fall and Spring semesters (mid-August to mid-May). Saturday service is provided during this same time period. Please refer to bus schedules for times of service. There will be no Saturday service on home football game Saturdays. Reduced service is also provided Monday through Friday during the summer (mid-May to mid-August) and during the Christmas and New Year holiday break. Reduced service maps and schedules are available at the Arkansas Union information desk, at Transit and Parking Department at 155 Razorback Road, in the Harmon Avenue Parking Garage, and on all buses during reduced service times. All maps and schedules are available on the Transit and Parking web page under Transit Operations
For a safe and comfortable ride please observe the following rules:
For safety reasons passengers are only allowed to board and exit buses at designated bus stops. Please do not ask the bus driver to do otherwise. Once the bus pulls away from a stop, the bus cannot stop for passengers until the next designated stop..
Transit buses are not school buses, so please watch for oncoming traffic after you exit a bus and please do not cross in front of the bus. Please use marked crosswalks, where available. Make yourself aware of all emergency exits on the bus.
No smoking and no open drinks or food are permitted on Razorback Transit vehicles.
Please enter the bus through the front door and exit through the rear door. If seating is not available, please move to the rear of the bus so that others can board. When standing please use the overhead and seat back handrails.
All passengers must stand behind the yellow line on each bus. Sitting or standing in the bus step wells is not permitted. Please stay seated or hold onto the handrail until the bus comes to a complete stop. Use handrails when you exit the bus.
