How to Avoid Parking Tickets
1. Purchase and properly display a current University of Arkansas parking permit.
2. Do not park in zones marked with yellow paint or where prohibited by sign. Vehicles blocking traffic lanes, bus stops, loading zones, fire lanes or on lawns will be cited and towed at the owner's expense.
3. Do not park in handicap accessible spaces designated as parking for disabled persons unless you have the proper University of Arkansas parking permit. Accessible parking spaces are twenty-four hour tow zones with a $100 violation administrative charge. Do not block or park in access aisles associated with accessible spaces.
4. All spaces in paved parking lots have painted white lines on both sides of the parking space. If there is not a painted line on both sides, it is not a parking space. Spaces in gravel parking lots are designated by white or gray wheel stops.
5. If you allow others to drive your motor vehicle, make sure they know where to park. Remember that you will be billed for parking citations issued to your vehicle.
6. If your vehicle breaks down on campus, promptly contact the Transit and Parking Department at 575-PARK or the University Police at 575-2222.
7. Remove all University of Arkansas parking permits from your vehicle prior to the sale or transfer of the vehicle. Your permit is designed to be moved to your replacement vehicle.
8. If you received a parking citation and wish to appeal, remember that you have only five class days to appeal the citation. If a meter malfunctions, a malfunction report must be filed the same day at the Transit and Parking Department. A printable Appeals and Meter Malfunction form are available under the Parking Control Section of the Transit and Parking web site.
